ADJUSTMENT IN KINDERGARTEN

Project aims

  1. Assessment of the current situation: To examine and analyze the current situation with the organization of transition and adjustment, the attitudes of early childhood educators and parents, and the existing educational activities that are applied during the transition from the family to the nursery/kindergarten and the adjustment of children in the nursery/kindergarten. To become familiar with the practices of transition and adjustment in the countries involved in the project.
  2. Development of guidelines for the organization and educational activities, and implementation of teacher training: Based on the three criteria, the results determined from the assessment of the current situation, the results of other previous research and existing theoretical models, and information from other countries, and starting from a holistic approach to the well-being of children and their developmental needs, guidelines for the organization of transition and adjustment, and integrated activities for educational work with early and preschool children will be created to facilitate the transition and adjustment. Education will be provided to educators from the kindergartens with which cooperation has been established, who will implement the created integrated activities in their educational groups.
  3. Analysis of the effect of the implemented activities: The effect of the organization of transition and adjustment and integrated activities on the well-being of children and the quality of transition and adjustment will be analyzed by testing the significance of differences within the framework of a quasi-experimental design. Differences will be tested within each group (experimental and control) and between groups. In the experimental group (children aged 1-4 years), activities will be implemented, in the control group (children of the same age) they will not, and the measurement will be carried out before the implementation of the activities and 8-9 months after the activities were carried out
  4. Analysis of the long-term effect of the activities carried out: In order to verify the long-term potential effect of the organization and the activities carried out on the well-being of children and the quality of the transition and adjustment, measurements will be repeated in both groups (experimental and control) of children two more times (longitudinal monitoring)
  5. Development of a lifelong education program: With the aim of sustainability of the established project results, a lifelong education program for early childhood educators will be created
